Clarion’s audiophile-grade APA4300HX amplifier
was designed as a perfect compliment to the
company’s flagship source unit, the DRZ9255.
From its exterior color scheme to its refined circuit
layout, stable power supply and high-capacity out-
put stage, the APA4300HX serves as Clarion’s
statement piece for 2004.
With all channels containing high- and low-pass
filters with variable crossover frequencies (50 to
200 Hz), the APA4300HX allows for easy system
expansion.
The amplifier also offers an input signal mixer
function, which uses a bridge to mix the left and
right channels. From there, the amplifier outputs
both signals via one channel. This is especially
useful when driving a mono subwoofer over the
APA4300HX’s integrated low-pass filter.
The APA4300HX also boasts a highly efficient
cooling system consisting of a thermally balanced
cooling tunnel connected to all heat-producing
semiconductors. A thermostat-operated fan in the
tunnel dissipates heat quickly to the outside.
Coupled with the large cooling surface of the
amplifier’s housing, the amplifier guarantees
excellent and safe operation of the output stages,
regardless of the loads.

APA4300HX Technologies
Current Feedback Amplification Circuit
This unique circuit design maximizes the potential
of the APA4300HX, allowing the amplifier to real-
ize even ultra-high frequency levels of 100kHz.
This wideband, high-speed amplification circuit
also ensures stable phase characteristics and
response. This circuit layout also adds dimension
to music, and provides additional harmonic ele-
ments while maintaining the main frequency ele-
ment. The design also prevents phase shifts of
high-range frequencies from becoming audible.
Power Guide Circuit
The APA4300HX’s input stage prevents the gen-
eration of clipping distortion by holding down the
gain when overdrive distortion is detected at the
output stage. By removing only distortion ele-
ments, the amplifier protects speakers from
potential damage while also maintaining the
amplifiers superior sound qualities.
4-Part Digital Meter
Clarion allows one to stay in tune with the
APA4300HX by outfitting the amp with a 4-part
digital meter. This allows one to monitor the ampli-
fier’s real-time power output level and consump-
tion, voltage level and internal temperature.
